Judges 2:1-5

When the angel of the LORD has spoken these things to all the Israelites, the people wept aloud. Judges 2:4 NIV

When the Ebola virus seeped into Nigeria in July 2014, panic gripped the whole nation. Anyone who knows the destructive power of the disease would fear. Handshake became scarce, hugging was forbidden, and many kept their distance from people, even their own relatives. "Who knows whoever has been infected?" Nigerians who travelled outside the country were scrutinised to the bones. and people avoided them like a plague. The Israelites were caught up in the web of spiritual virus of faithlessness and disobedience. They forgot the great work of deliverance the Lord did when He brought them out of Egypt. God rebuked them for this attitude. It is commendable that when the people heard God's voice, they lifted up their voice and wept.

Sin is a virus that can kill and destroy, and God wants His children to run away from it. God wants us to be happy, but He is much more interested in making us holy. Holiness makes us like Him, and there is nothing that we cannot achieve in that perfect state. How have you treated the Lord's rebuke concerning your way of life? Scripture says, "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent." (Rev. 3:19)

Birthday Blessing: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
